A preacher, who shall we say was “humor impaired,” attended a conference to help encourage and better equip pastors for their ministry. Among the speakers were many well known and dynamic speakers.
One such boldly approached the pulpit and, gathering the entire crowd’s attention, said, “The best years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman that wasn’t my wife!” The crowd was shocked! He followed up by saying, “And that woman was my mother!” - The crowd burst into laughter and delivered the rest of his talk, which went over quite well. (read more…)

One Sunday morning

Humor by Pastor Roman on Wednesday 31 August 2005 at 6:27 pm

One Sunday morning, the pastor noticed little Alex was staring up at the large plaque that hung in the foyer of the church. The plaque was covered with names, and small American flags were mounted on either side of it. The seven-year-old had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the pastor walked up, stood beside him and said quietly, “Good morning, Alex.” (read more…)

A preacher’s little boy inquired, “Daddy, I notice every Sunday morning when you first come out to preach, you sit up on the platform and bow your head. What are you doing?”
The father explained, “I’m asking the Lord to give me a good sermon.”

The little boy said, “Why don’t He?”

ARTHRITIS

Humor by Pastor Roman on Monday 22 August 2005 at 12:57 am

A drunk man who smelled like beer sat down on a subway seat next to a priest. The man’s tie was stained, his face was plastered with red lipstick, and a half empty bottle of gin was sticking out of his torn coat pocket. He opened his newspaper and began reading.

After a few minutes the man turned to the priest and asked, “Father, what causes arthritis?”

“My Son, it’s caused by loose living, being with cheap, wicked women, too much alcohol, a contempt for your fellow man, sleeping around with prostitutes and lack of baths.”

“Well, I’ll be damned,” the drunk muttered, returning to his paper.

The priest, thinking about what he had said, nudged the man and apologized.
“I’m very sorry. I didn’t mean to come on so strong. How long have you had arthritis?”

“I don’t have it, Father. I was just reading here that the Pope has it.”

A Prayer of a child

Humor by Pastor Roman on Friday 19 August 2005 at 3:03 pm

Heavenly Father, I thank You, for giving me my grand father. He was such a Godly man. When the time will come, I want to die just like him. He just peacefully fell a sleep, and never woke up again, went to be with you in such a peace!

And I do not want to be like those people that were in his car with him on the highway when it happened screaming in fear and horrified.

OMON PERPLEXED; “EMMANUEL” PASTOR CONDUCTS NEGOTIATIONS
Portal-credo.ru, 2 June 2005
The picket is continuing that is being conducted by Pentecostals of the “Emmanuel” church on Tver Square across from Moscow city hall, demanding the return of land allocated for construction of a church. About fifty members of “Emmanuel” church are standing with placards and chanting: “Bureaucrats! Return our land,” according to reports from the press secretary of the church, Yury Popov. He reports that police officers from the Department of Internal Affairs of the “Tver” district are located nearby. At around 1:00 p.m. a bus with OMON special forces arrived.

The police tried to prevent the picketing with a photocopy of some document and they demanded that the picket be stopped, to which they responded that the paper that was presented had no legal force since the organizers of the demonstration had still received no official notification about moving the place of conducting the picket, and they continued the demonstration. The OMON troops joined the investigation and began demanding that the picket cease within twenty minutes. Otherwise they threatened to fill the bus with picketers. They also tried to explain to them that the picket was being conducted on legal bases. Then the OMON troops demanded that somebody from the mayor’s office come out to the square and resolve the dispute.
